Service Providers
Note: CESA will be revising the program’s collection and processing system by July 1, 2012 to incorporate the expanded list of products, including power tools, sewing machines and exercise equipment.
The program currently engages with many types of service providers.
Collection
To find an individual collection site for the small appliances program, please see www.unpluggedrecycling.ca.
To see a complete list of collection sites, please click here.
All collection sites must meet a minimum collection site standard set by the program.
If your organization is interested in becoming a collection site, please contact Brent van Beusekom
Processing
The small appliance recycling program operated by CESA contracts directly with all processors and recyclers who handle small appliance products that are collected by the program. In the contracts between CESA and the processor, CESA requires both:
-
the processor to conform to the EPSC Electronic Recycling Standard; and
-
the processor to submit to conformance reviews by CESA or a third party auditor.
The EPSC Electronic Recycling Standard defines the minimum requirements for handling end-of-life electronics that contains many requirements to which the processor must comply, such as environmental, occupational health and safety and materials handling requirements.
CESA acknowledges the excellent work of EPSC and its member electronics recycling programs in developing and maintaining the standard.
The following processors have been selected and contracted through an RFP process:
